Christmas Party!

I often hear stories about people getting in feisty discussions with their relatives at family gatherings. Usually, my family doesn’t mention politics or religion (even though we almost always wear pro-life t-shirts) but this time I started a little conversation.

My cousin’s wife works for the NRA and my Uncle who lives in Missouri bought my aunt a gun for Christmas. My mom wanted a gun for Christmas (but didn’t get one) so I asked him about it. We got into a little discussion how our 2nd amendment rights are being violated with the new restrictions being made. Bringing up the pro-aborts attack at the “Empty Manger Christmas Caroling” in Chicago with Pro-Life Action League, (that my mom went to) my mom made the point that the rights of the innocent unborn are being denied. That’s when it got a little hot and he disagreed. He gave the old reply that abortion a right, “a moral issue” that politics should not be involved in.

Abortion, killing a baby, is not a right. Life is a right which everyone innocent deserves. Without life, Uncle, how can anything be? Rights have limits. Calling abortion a right is like calling murder a right. What’s the difference? Nothing. Abortion is killing a defenseless innocent child! Common sense!

The direct correlation is explicit and very easy to understand. I don’t understand how a person who believes in the Second Amendment does not believe in the right to Life. The two issues go hand in hand. Pro-lifers have the right to defend the right to life, which everything stems from, just as gun owners have the right to protect themselves and their families by owning guns. We are all protecting innocent life.

As my mom says, the first thing Hitler did was ban guns and allowed Jews to have abortions. Is history going to repeat itself…..or is it already?

Video of the Week/Orgin of the Christmas Tree

In today's bulletin - from the Shrine of Christ the King, the "Origin of the Christmas Tree" is posted. I found it intresting so here it is:

"Saint Boniface, an English missionary known as the '"Apostle of Germany"', in 722 came upon some men who were about to cut a huge oak tree as a stake (Oak of Thor) for a human sacrifice to their pagan god. With one mighty blow, Saint Boniface himself felled the massive oak and as the tree split, a beautiful young fir tree sprang from its center. Saint Boniface told the people that his lovely evergreen, with its branches pointing to heaven, was indeed a holy tree, the tree of the Christ Child, a symbol of His promise of eternal life. He instructed them henceforth to carry the evergreen from the wilderness into their homes and to surround it with gifts, symbols of love and kindness. "

St. Boniface was eventually murdered by the pagans after he chopped down their tree, but they did not abolish the Truth of Christ from Germany.

Today, pagans in our society hate the Christmas tree so much they call it the "Holiday Tree." (Target) They keep trying to do away with the Truth, Christ, but they can't. As St. Theresa Avila said, "Truth suffers but never dies."

St. Boniface, pray for us!

Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

We made a safe trip home on Friday night after a long day at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Early that morning we went to the Shrine visitor center to "Wake up Mary" with songs. The Archbishop stood right next to me and sang. Yipes!

Then, we walked up the to the shrine and prayed the Rosary. It was my first time being in the completed shrine and it is beautiful.

After that, hundreds processed to the new mosaluem which the Archbishop then dedicated to the Unborn.

It was a beautiful drive and an honor to be at the shrine.

I am sorry for not posting this weekend. A young distant cousin of mine was tragicly killed in a car accident. Please keep him (his soul) and his family in your prayers.

Happy St. Nicholas Day!

My favorite miracle of St. Nicholas (which God performed through him) from my Mom's book of saints:

"On one visitation he stayed in the house of a man into whom
Satan seemed to have entered; for when meat failed for his table he supplied it with the flesh of little children whom he stole and murdered in order to serve as meat to the travelers who were his guests. It was this
horrible repast, disguised with his best skill, that this wicked man
dared to set before the Bishop and his companions. No sooner had the man of God set his eyes upon the sumptuous table and upon the 'meat' prepared for him, that he understood the horrible fraud. He charged the host with this abominable crime, and the man, trembling confessed his sin. Then, St. Nicholas led the way to the place were the remains where the remains of the other victims had been hidden, To the horror of all, they found them salted down in a tub. Clothed with the majesty of a Bishop of God, and endowed with the power which the Almighty One gives to His Saints, no sooner had St. Nicholas made over them the sign of the cross, than the three little children were restored to life, and then given back to their Mother."
I hope everyone has/had a blessed day!
St. Nicholas, Patron Saint of children, pray for us!

Novena to the Immaculate Conception

Sorry, this Novena was to be said November 29-December 7th but I just became aware of it now.

O most Holy Virgin who wast pleasing to God and didst become His Mother.
Immaculate in Thy body, in Thy soul in Thy faith and in Thy love, we beseech
Thee to look graciously upon the wretched who implore Thy powerful protection.
The wicked serpent, against whom the primal curse was hurled, continues
nonetheless to wage war and lay snares for the unhappy children of Eve. Ah, do
thou our blessed Mother our Queen and Advocate, who from the first instant of
thy conception didst crush the head of our enemy, receive the prayers we unite
single heartily to Thine and conjurer Thee to offer at the throne of God, that
we may never fall into the snares that are laid for us, in such wise that we may
all come to the heaven of salvation; and in the midst of so many
dangers may holy Church and the fellowship of Christians everywhere sing
once more the hymn of deliverance, victory and peace. Amen.

A Must Watch

Volition, a fantastic short film with an explicit pro-life
message.

From LifeSite News:

As the synopsis of the film states, “Throughout history, men have been faced
with difficult choices in a world that makes it easy for them to conform. This
film explores the hope that lies behind every decision made in the face of
adversity; the hope that is buried in the heart of those that look beyond
themselves and see something bigger worth fighting for.”

Fall

Every year around this time wild animals travel thru the park in our back yard.

Last week -- when I was at my desk, intent in doing my school work, I noticed a huge bird in our tree. I was able to get close to it and snapped a few shots but it was just a red tailed hawk. My little brother made some squeaky noises and it looked down at him like this:

Days latter, we saw two coyotes go through the field. I ran out to get a picture and one started to come towards me. I ran in the house right away and the coyote ran in the opposite direction too. We scared each other.

Oh, and I found this animal in our house...

Better late than never!

Update: After reading -and posting, the following AP report, I wated to thank the heroic priest for his strong words. I went to his parish website to get his e-mail address and to my surprise I found this disappointing letter:

Dear Friends in Christ,

Last week I wrote a column for our Sunday bulletin just as I have done every week for the past seven years, and when I wrote it, I had no thought that it would be read by anyone other than parishioners of St. Mary’s or out of the context of everything that has been taught and preached here, from the pulpit or in writing, over these seven years. And yet that was precisely the result of the distortion of my words by the Associated Press. For an in depth explanation of what I wrote and what I did not write, please see the bulletin insert today which begins “Priest: No Communion for Obama Voters.”

Of course, I said nothing of the kind and explained very carefully and in writing to both the Greenville News and the Associated Press that “I cannot and will not refuse Holy Communion to anyone because of his or her political opinions or choices.” Nevertheless, the AP story was written to create the false impression that I intended to deny Holy Communion to those who voted for Senator Obama; I did not.

My bulletin column last week was exactly 542 words—a space in which no comprehensive description could be offered of an enormously complex subject. That is why what I wrote last week has to be read in light of the teaching of the American bishops on “Faithful Citizenship” which was distributed in the bulletin the week before the election and explained from the pulpit. From that document and the teaching of the Church’s Magisterium, no one could conclude that a vote for Senator Obama is in itself or by itself a mortal sin. But from that same teaching, though, we must conclude that a vote for a pro-abortion candidate can be a mortal sin if the intent is to support abortion, that abortion is not merely one issue among other important issues, and that no Catholic should endorse a pro-abortion politician if a plausible pro-life alternative is available. I regret that I did not take time last week to parse out every stipulation of the Church’s teaching, because the failure to do so allowed those who oppose that teaching to ridicule it by falsely asserting that I intended to deny Holy Communion to anyone who voted for the president-elect or that I presumed to know or judge their conscience. Again, for a fuller discussion of these issues, please see today’s bulletin insert.

As I write these words, I have received over 3,500 emails from around the world. Most of the people who wrote seem to regard me as either a mighty champion of reform or an evil tool of the devil, and I am naturally hesitant to accept either title. In truth, I am but a useless servant of the Lord Jesus trying, despite my frailty, to be a faithful witness to Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I hope that everyone who reads these words will study what the Church teaches about freedom of conscience, political responsibility, and the absolute sanctity of human life. As I explain in the introduction to the Principles of Evangelical Catholicism which guide pastoral practice at St. Mary’s, everything about us must be measured and guided by the Gospel: our thoughts, words, actions, bodies, relationships, spending habits, political convictions, lifestyle choices, and business decisions. But this total surrender to Christ and His Gospel is not a restriction of our freedom; in fact, it is the beginning of authentic discipleship and the only path to evangelical liberty.

My Mom's Last E-Mail........

Vivo Christo Rey!

Is the Cardinal part of the Magisterium? The
church's divinely appointed authority to teach the truths of religion, "Going
therefore, teach ye all nations . . .teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you".? Yes, that's what he is supposed to
be doing! I am sure we will see many writings from him now, after the
election. Just like we saw the Bishops speak up for Terri Schiavo after
she was dead.

Ever since I've heard the sacrilegious (the irreverent treatment of sacred things) Cardinal Francis George/CEO say that he will not deny pro-abort politicians Holy Communion, at the Chicago PRLC meeting, I've been begging you to write letters and withhold funding to wake him from his stupor, because we love him.

This was our duty as Catholics, for the love of God, set them
straight. Hold them up, encourage them to admonish the sinner and instruct the ignorant. The Bishops are not infallable. We need set them
straight because we love them. We beg all of them to teach/tell Catholics
that it is mortal sin to vote for a pro-abort candidate, because he
has been chosen to do so.

Cardinal Francis George, President of the US Bishops, defiantly went against the church's teachings, cannon 915. He is in direct disobedience of our Holy Father and can easily be guilty of sins of omission. So sad for all of us.

Who else are Catholics supporting along with
Acorn? Nuns with Obama bumper stickers who say we are anti-abortion
instead of pro-life because we don't support their liberal causes!
They call these causes, sins against Social Justice, like
pollution!

What other requests from the Pope are we being denied? The Holy Father requested every parish to have the Holy Latin Mass. It's the Traditional mass we had for 1,500 years before Vatican II in the 60's, this mess, you know, the harder mass, may even be called, a sacrifice. I KNOW THREE HOLY PRIESTS WHO ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SAY A LATIN MASS AT THEIR PARISH right here within 5 miles! SHAME!

NOW, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS IN THE PROCESS OF CANONIZING A
COMMUNIST, DORTHY DAY

IT'S YOUR MONEY, ARE YOU SUPPORTING EVIL? We better check to see what we are culpable of?

I am now going on sabbatical, there is nothing else for me to say. God help us all.

The Modern Queen Antoinette

After reading Trianon, the TRUE stroy of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette of France, I found a modern day Marie Antoinette.

See if you can guess the modern day Marie Antoinette. Here are the facts:

Even though she was a European – from Austria, Marie was considered a foreigner.

Marie was hated not only because of her beauty but also because she was falsely accused of buying expensive jewelry and clothes when the economy of France was in troubled times. Even clergy, a cardinal and bishop falsely judged her.

The corrupt parliament was ruling the country and the King had no power.

The military was hated and mobs decapitated military guards.

There were many heresies going around in the Catholic Church and priests had to sign an allegiance to the government which denounced the true Catholic faith. To her dismay, France was never consecrated to the Sacred Heart.

Her brother in-law was also a scoundrel.

Her sovereignty did not get in the way of her vocation as a mother. Her innocent children and family were a constant source of ridicule and abuse to the public.

Campaign Tricks and Treats

Distribute campaign literature - wrapped around a piece of candy - to your trick-or-treaters.

When I did this last it was for a Constitution Party candidate who we were enthusiastically supporting and trying to publicize.

This year, for our pro-life candidate running for Congress against a pro-abortion, atheist, scientist, I might use this beguiling catchphrase:

"Don't vote for a mad scientist,

Vote Oberweis for Congress!"

What do you think? Any suggestions?

As my mom says – or might say, "It's for the kids."

The closer we get to election day the more nervous I get.

This afternoon I made 40 calls "on behalf of the McCain/Palin Campaign." I really urge everyone to do it. It is very simple; go to Senator McCain's website to sign up, click on "call voters" and wala, the script and phone numbers are there!

I choose to call voters in Wisconsin instead of Illinois because we are a hopeless corrupt state.

Some of the numbers were disconnected and I left messages on some machines but the good news is; most of the people I talked to said they were supporting McCain!

A friend : ) sent me this quote from Abraham Lincoln; "Elections belong to the people. It is their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters."

Keep praying, fasting and hoping!

I shook hands with...

Sorry for the delay in writing this but, better late then never!

Thursday, October 2, we took a trip up to Waukesha, Wisconsin to see Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin. We went even though we did not have tickets to get in the Town Hall meeting but figured we could evangelize in our "Truth Mobile"- which has "Obama Voted 3 times to KILL babies born alive -JillStanek.com" written all over it:

When we were parking near the Complex, the first person we saw was a protester who had a sign that said "Bush S*** McCain McSame" but when we saw that, we grabbed our "Baby Malachi" sign -which had "Obama"written over it, our "Stop the Real War, abortion" sign and the beloved Obama mask.

As we were walking over to the center, a black pedestian read our signs and beating his chest he said "Obama." Isn't that strange?

Anyway, we finally arrived at our destination and scared the protesters (who were directly across the street from the long line of republicans waiting to get in the building) with the Malachi sign. Our pro-life friend Sally who met us up there asked around for extra tickets and got enough for all of us.

While we we were waiting in line with our tickets -we were the last ones in line- the McCain "Straight Talk express" bus pulled up. We were going to wait for McCain and Palin to come out but it was our last chance to get into the building so we went in.

In the Town Hall meeting - we barley got in the door -the questions the people asked were great and so were the answers. Right before Palin's ending remarks, we ran out near the bus to get a glimpse at McCain and Palin. After waiting for about five minutes the Secret Service and Police came out and did a security check. Then, the crowed started to Cheer and there was McCain!

Here is the video, (caution, it is loud):

I am so happy and excited with this great news that Dixi is allowing me to do a post on it!
The Great news is that the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, already a Society of Apostolic Life, has now been granted the status of a Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Right. Which means that the Institute is now under the direct supervisory control of the Holy Father!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God!!!!!!!!! The Institute is well known for having cordial relations with the Bishops in the dioceses where they operate, so in many ways this change will not be immediately apparent. Yet it does provide a measure of independence from certain possible situations where the boundaries of diocesan control are otherwise not well-understood. This is the same canonical footing that the Holy See has granted to other traditionalist societies, and is a recognition by the Holy See of the Great work and standing of the Institute worldwide!!!

Here is the announcement from the Institute's French homepage in an NLM translation:

In the twentieth year of its existence the Institute of Christ the King
Sovereign Priest, installed in fifty dioceses all over the world, numbering more
than fifty priests, seventy seminarians, and the Sister Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus Christ Sovereign Priest, has the immense joy and the honour to announce
to you its elevation to Pontifical Right, as society of Apostolic life in canonical form,
according to the will of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
Thanks to Saint Loius Catholic for the link!

Here is also a more detailed announcement on the American website of the Institute :

With deepest gratitude to the Blessed Trinity, to Christ Our King, and His
Immaculate Mother, to St. Joseph, to St. Michael the Archangel, to our patron
saints, to the entire court of heaven, and with filial thankfulness to our Holy
Father Pope Benedict XVI and his faithful collaborators, we have the joy to
announce a very important event:His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI On the feast day of Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Rosary, the Vice-President of the Commission Ecclesia Dei, Very Reverend Monsignor Camille Perl, has read in our Seminary chapel the official decree by which, in the name of the Holy Father, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest was erected to the status of a Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Right. Also our Sisters Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus received
the status of Pontifical Right. The Decree was signed by His Eminence Dario
Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos. A Solemn Te Deum followed the
reading of the Decree.Born out of a profound union with the Holy Father in Rome
and the Institute's founder and members having always lived in a continuous and unwavering spirit of faithful Romanitas, the Institute was granted the Pontifical Right after the formal time of experience and interrogation which is a traditional custom for the Holy See. Various positive Apostolic Visitations conducted by the Roman Curia and a very favorable consultation of all the Most Reverend Bishops in whose Dioceses we are invited to serve have finalized this canonical process. After this affirmative
evaluation of our spirituality and our international presence and work, the
Pontifical Right is an expression of the appreciation of the service of the
Institute of Christ the King by the Roman Pontiff and his collaborators to whom
we are deeply obliged. The Pontifical Right will make it even easier for the
Institute to conduct its service for the Church according to its constitutions
and gives to Monsignor the Prior General rights and duties that are in unison
with our canonical lifestyle.BENEDICTO XVI SUMMO PONTIFICI PAX, VITA ET SALUS PERPETUA!

God Bless the Institute!!!
We are so happy for them!

Obama $upporter Attempts to Run Stage During Palin's Speech

(Picture from the Assoicated Press ("Plain: not a woman's choice")
The Washington Post and Free Republic Report:

One of Barack Obama's elite fundraisers from the anti-American group Code
Pink
attempted to storm the stage last night during Republican vice presidential
nominee Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the GOP convention in
St. Paul.

Jodie Evans, one of a group of about 500 top financiers who have bundled tens of thousands of dollars for the Obama campaign was seized by the Secret Service after she had made her way to side of the stage and and started to yell at Palin.

10:45 p.m. A pair of Code Pink activists just got to the very edge of the
stage and were a moment away from apparently running on stage, right by the
Kentucky slot on the floor next to a host of McCain's most senior staffers.

Secret Service men grabbed them at last minute and literally dragged them
out.--Paul Kane

Evans has bundled between $50,000 and $100,000 for Obama as well as
contributing the maximum $2300 to Obama's presidential primary campaign
.
She co-hosted Obama's breakout Hollywood fundraiser at the start of his campaign in February 2007.

As a bundler, Evans has been given perks that include regular briefings by
top campaign staffers on policy and private meetings with Obama and his vice
presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Abortion: the Ultimate Child Abuse...

Since when do liberal feminists care about children?

Besides hating her because of her pro-life views and panicking over her increasing popularity, could the liberal media be jealous of Sarah Palin?

The fact once again comes down to abortion; the ultimate child abuse. Our country has killed 50 million babies since 1973 and a statistic shows that 90% of downs-syndrome babies are aborted. That being said, how many women are regretting their abortions and are seeing the great example of Governor Palin, having a great love for her children by sacrificing her life for their future...

The Next Vice President...Sarah Palin!!!

Praise God!

McCain chose a GREAT running mate!
She's Pro-Life, a mother of 5, a woman, and a Governor.
Her husband is a Union Steel worker and her son is in the Army.
She has more experience than Obama too! So EXCITING!!!

Here is LifeSite New's article about Sarah Palin and her newborn daughter who has Downs-Syndrome:

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 29, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In an unexpected development that has social conservatives cheering, a top campaign official has confirmed that McCain will shortly announce his choice of dark horse Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Governor Palin, the first woman elected as Alaska's governor, is well-known for her strong and public stance on life and family issues. Palin, a Christian, is a long time member of Feminists for Life and a mother of five children.

The choice of the extremely popular 44-year-old governor and former beauty queen for VP came as a shock to most, as attention had in recent days largely been concentrated on more prominent prospects such as Mitt Romney, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and Sen. Joseph Lieberman.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of the Susan B. Anthony List, a political action committee helping pro-life women gain election to Congress, enthusiastically welcomed McCain's choice. "Sarah Palin is the whole package," she said. "There couldn't be a better vice presidential pick."

"Women voters are electrified, and Sarah is someone who is truly in sync with the way real American women think. She is a reform-minded woman who will give all Americans, born and unborn, the authentic leadership they deserve….By choosing the boldly pro-life Sarah Palin as his running mate, John McCain has taken his stand as the one true, authentic pro-life ticket."

Palin proved her pro-life credentials in a powerful way earlier this year year when she gave birth to her fifth child, born with Down Syndrome, despite receiving pressure from doctors to abort. At a time when a vast majority of Down Syndrome children are aborted, Palin vociferously defended her choice to bring her daughter Trig to term.

"Trig is beautiful and already adored by us," said Palin on the day after her daughter's birth. "We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed."

In November of last year LifeSiteNews reported that Palin had lambasted a decision by the Alaskan Supreme Court that permitted under age girls to obtain abortions without parental consent. Palin called the decision “outrageous” and instructed Attorney General Talis Colberg to file a petition for a rehearing.

Palin is opposed to same-sex "marriage," though she has said in the past that she has homosexual friends and shares their concerns about discrimination. However, she also said she would support a ballot question that would deny benefits to homosexuals. "I believe that honoring the family structure is that important," she said in 2006.
