Our Lady of Sorrows

Prayer to the Sorrowful Mother

Most holy Mother of Sorrows, by that soul-piercing martyrdom thou didst undergo at the foot of the Cross during the three hours' agony of Jesus, deign to assist me also, who am the child of thy Sorrows, in my agony, so that by thine intercession I may be found worthy to pass from my deathbed to thy blessed society in Paradise.

V. From a sudden and unprovided death,
R. Deliver me, O Lord.
V. From the snares of the devil,
R. Deliver me, O Lord.
V. From everlasting death,
R. Deliver me, O Lord.

Let us pray.
O God, Who for the salvation of mankind hast made for us in the most bitter death of Thy Son both an example and a refuge; grant, we beseech Thee, that we may be found worthy to obtain the fruit of His great love in our final peril at the hour of death, and to be made partakers of our Redeemer's glory. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

May Crowning/Happy Mother's Day!

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Holy Mary,
pray for us! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our
death. Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation! Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for
us! ~Aspiration to Mary By St. Alphonsus Liguori

Happy Mother's Day to all our "Earthly Mothers"...especially my Mother! I love you!

Madonna of the Rock

As the Holy Family was fleeing Herod, they happened to stumble upon a cave belonging to a thief and his family. The robber and his wife had an infant son the same age as Jesus. Sadly, the baby had leprosy. The Blessed Mother took pit on the poor child and his mother. In gratitude for the shelter and food the robber's family had provided, She, through Jesus, performed a miracle.

Our Lady told the mother to place her son in the bath water that had been used to wash the Christ Child. As soon as the robbers son was bathed in the water, his skin was completely restored and renewed.

Many years passed, the two boys grew to manhood. The cured boy grew into the trade of his father and became a thief. One fateful and terrible day the two men met again, this time not in a cave, but on a hill. The leprous baby boy was now the thief who hung on the cross at the right side of Jesus and said, "Lord, remember me when Thou dost enter into Thy Kingdom". Jesus' Mother's kind deed of long ago had won the thief the grace of faith and repentance.

Novena to the Immaculate Conception

Sorry, this Novena was to be said November 29-December 7th but I just became aware of it now.

O most Holy Virgin who wast pleasing to God and didst become His Mother.
Immaculate in Thy body, in Thy soul in Thy faith and in Thy love, we beseech
Thee to look graciously upon the wretched who implore Thy powerful protection.
The wicked serpent, against whom the primal curse was hurled, continues
nonetheless to wage war and lay snares for the unhappy children of Eve. Ah, do
thou our blessed Mother our Queen and Advocate, who from the first instant of
thy conception didst crush the head of our enemy, receive the prayers we unite
single heartily to Thine and conjurer Thee to offer at the throne of God, that
we may never fall into the snares that are laid for us, in such wise that we may
all come to the heaven of salvation; and in the midst of so many
dangers may holy Church and the fellowship of Christians everywhere sing
once more the hymn of deliverance, victory and peace. Amen.
